Julie was born in Seoul, Korea, before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area with her parents in 1998. She moved to San Diego in 2008 to study at UC San Diego for her bachelor's degree in international relations. Julie and Brian met in 2012 during Julie's last few months in San Diego, but they were soon reunited when Julie was admitted to UC San Diego again for her master's in international affairs, and the rest is history! Julie currently works at UC San Diego as a Graduate Student Adviser. 

Brian grew up in Muskego, Wisconsin, where he spent his childhood running around causing mischief with his friends in the woods. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 2008 and attended boot camp at MCRD San Diego. Brian spent two years stationed in Okinawa, Japan, before moving to Camp Pendleton, California, where he met Julie in 2012. Brian currently works full-time as a Systems Integrations Engineer while going to school full-time, which puts his brains to work every day!
