Even though Josh and Kayla unknowingly met nearly ten years ago, the first spark was ignited on January 11th, 2017. It was a snowy Wednesday in southwestern Washington and they were both out for adventure, which little did they know would be the start to an adventure of a lifetime. 

 

That day in January Kayla had brought her two dogs, Lucy and Perkins, over to Dain Grosman's house. Upon arrival, she promptly made her way into the shop to keep warm by the fire. There she met Josh and his good friend Michael. They were on the other side of the room playing games. Josh had taken interest in Kayla's four legged companions. Their mutual love for animals got the conversation started. 

You may be thinking that this is how their story started out. However, they departed their separt ways that day and it would be another two weeks until their paths would cross again. 

 

On January 27th, 2017 fate had struck again while at a small bar in Vancouver, WA. Josh and Kayla were both enjoying a fun night with friends when Josh mustered up the courage to strike up another conversation with Kayla. Asking, "Do you remember my name?". Kayla, being terrible at remembering names, couldn't remember his name at all. He was polite and gave her a hint, "It starts with 'J'". Kayla then began to ramble off all of the 'J' names she could possibly think of, "Jordan, James, Justin, Juan...?", all without fail. Josh kindly put Kayla out of her embarrassing misery and told her his name. After a little bit of small talk they then again went their separate ways that night. 

You may be beginning to wonder, "How did this relationship get started when they keep going their separate ways after only minimal amounts of small talk? Surely there must be more." 

 

Well, that very night (or early morning on January 28th, 2017), Josh had messaged Kayla asking if she would be going to a birthday celebration that following evening. Kayla let Josh know that she hadn't decided if she was going or not. However, Kayla was very intrigued by this conversation and she knew she wanted to get to know this man more so she ultimately decided to go. 

 

That evening on January 28th, 2017 is ultimately the starting point to Josh and Kayla's lifetime adventure. They sat at the bar for a while getting to know each other and genuinely talking. 

 

Since that day, Josh and Kayla's love for each other has grown everyday and they are excited to continuously grow that love for a lifetime.
